CONTEMPORARY STYLE KITCHEN

The kitchen you see here, contemporary, white, sleek lines and well organized was originally quite dark and very cluttered.

The client had always wanted a very pristine look in her "dream kitchen". Something that would help her to keep the ordinary "stuff' inside the cabinets instead of all over the counter top.

As with all of our clients, the intent here was to encourage dialogue and translate that information into a viable working plan. The designer must listen to the client's desires and needs and then help them decide on the practical elements which will give them the right kitchen. This has to be done with a sense of the visual effect, the organizational elements and with the client's budget restrictions in mind.

Regarding this contemporary style kitchen, pictured above, the client let it be known that organization and looks were the most important elements to be considered. Also, the client never served a meal where the milk carton, a box of cereal or the ketchup bottle were placed on the table. These kinds of foods were always put into serving dishes. The clients cooked for themselves and entertained frequently. These aspects needed to be addressed along with the limitations of the available physical space.

Integral with the design process, cabinets, appliances, flooring, counter top material, furniture and fabrics were selected. All of this, along with lighting and electrical plans gave the client the kitchen they wanted and had dreamed of for a long time.
